CITY ILLEGALLY DUMPS CEMENT CHUNKS IN STREAM
The City and County of Honolulu is repairing sidewalks. Pieces of the torn up sidewalk are being illegally dumped into Mailiilii Stream, Waianae, Oahu. Approximately 300 truckloads were dumped over a period of 2 years, destroying the wetland habitat of the endangered Hawaiian Stilt (complaining loudly in this video) and ruining the stream itself. On Friday, 6/12/09, after Carroll Cox exposed the problem on KHON News, the City admitted wrongdoing and started cleaning up the mess.
